Google Doodle

On May 11 2011, I made this Google Doodle commemorating the life of legendary dance choreographer, Martha Graham. I met up with a choreographer and dancer from the Martha Graham Dance Company in New York, and together we worked out the dance moves that would be the reference for this animation. Truly, a wonderful opportunity to do something like this.

The guys at google warned me of the potential traffic this may create, but I didn’t think anyone would really care who made the animation. Well, that day my site crashed over and over again. I couldn’t keep it up for more than 20 minutes before it was down again. “unlimited bandwidth” is a myth! My only regret is that I didn’t do a better job at it. I really didn’t think it would generate so much interest – had I known I think I would have taken a bit time on it.

I’m glad I had to learn a few things about Martha Graham and her signature dance moves. This first one was way off!
